Our Statement of Faith

We believe in the verbal inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures and the authority of both the Old and New Testaments.

We believe that God eternally exists in three Persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – and that these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of the same worship, reverence, and obedience.

We believe man was created in the image of God, but sinned and fell through disobedience, and that the entire human race shares in man’s lost and depraved nature.

We believe Jesus, the eternal son of God, took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life,
yet retained His absolute deity, being at the same time very God and very man.

We believe that the atonement for sin was made  through the Blood, by the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the literal resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven and His priestly intercession.

We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father, the comforter who indwells and places every believer in the Body of Christ, bestows spiritual gifts upon the Church and convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and the judgment.

We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for all believers as a definite endowment of power for service and is subsequent to, and separate from, conversion.

We believe that the ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ, are Water Baptism by immersion, the Lord’s Supper, and Feet Washing, these are administered to those who are born again.

We believe in the eternal salvation of the believers and in the eternal damnation and punishment of the nonbelievers.

We believe that the consummation of all things begin with the “Blessed Hope” of the Church (The Rapture) and the visible, (Glorious Appearing) personal return of Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13

"It was November 17th, 1981 when after much searching and discoveries, I found what I was looking for. Throughout my younger years, I was brought up Catholic.  However, I was much older and hungering for the truth. My mystery began in the summer of nineteen hundred sixty-four.  I was eleven at the time. I notice a group of people standing at the corners of Lynch and Marcy in Brooklyn, with flags and a speaker boxes. One man, in particular, began to speak in Spanish giving his family background, I understood what he was saying.  He spoke of a man named Jesus whom I haven't met. He stated how this man came from heaven to save sinners. And that all of us needed His forgiveness. And how God provided a Way for us to be saved and have eternal Life.

Being a student in Transfiguration Catholic Church I was instructed that the Universal Roman Catholic Church was the true church of God and that Peter was it's first Pope. So, I took what that man said with little interest. However, I found myself standing in the same corners every spring waiting for those religious people. That was my name for them.

One spring, they had their program as usual and then invited everyone to their church which was around the corner to watch a Christian movie. I walked to the church and I was welcomed with open arms. That was my memory regarding those events. I was brought up Catholic and attended Transfiguration Church in Brooklyn, New York. One day, the priest collected an essay from our sixth-grade class and I was chosen as one of the boys to be with the priest in Delaware. The group was made up of three boys and three girls. He took us by the river and talked about our essays and the issues of life. My essay was entitled ‘Why We Should Love Each Other.’ He then took us to the monastery where there were other priests singing and praying. That really took hold of me and at that moment, I decided I wanted to be a priest.

After graduating school, I followed my friends to Automotive High School, where I excelled in academics and sports. However, I felt that something was missing. There, I was taught that we came from monkeys or fish. I was confused and left the church. I told myself that if there is a God, He would call me His way.

After graduating from high school, I had many struggles in making career decisions. I landed a job as a driving instructor, and my continuous career struggle prompted me to find solace in the Scriptures. I would read my Bible regularly, every Sunday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. I would also take my Bible with me to work. People would ask me if I was a preacher, and I would say no. A memory would flood my brain, reminding me that as of yet I did not visit the church.

When I observed that my boss was becoming hungry for money, I decided to leave that job and began working as a driver for an ambulette company. I was not earning enough to provide for myself, my wife, and our baby.

I prayed, and in August 1981, I believe God opened the door for me to work for the Emergency Medical Services as a corpsman or emergency medical technician (EMT). At first they trained me as an Call Receiving Operator (CRO) in communications. But my desires were to work on an ambulance. There came an opportunity for me to transfer out, and I did. I was reassigned to station 35-Cumberland outpost. There, I met Mrs.. Maebell Boomer, a fire Evangelist and Randolph. I worked with them on 35C2. When I worked with Mrs. Boomer, we talked read the scriptures, talked about the Lord and pray for the sick and injured.

Learning about my deep interest in the Scriptures, she invited me to a Bible study. One Thursday night, I visited Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, which was then under the direction of Reverend Turner Sr.

During that Bible study, I found myself asking many questions. Sister Thornton answered all my questions. Another night, Sister Ruth asked me if I was “born again.” Not fully understanding what she meant, I ignored her and went on my way. Later that year, my wife and I moved from Brooklyn to Queens.

One Thursday (November 17th, 1981) night between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, as I was driving from home to church, I was listening to the Christian radio. The speaker shared a story that would change my life forever.

In his story, there was a little boy who wanted to learn to pray. His mother told him he was too young to understand and told him to raise his arms and say, "Jesus, this is Jimmy." That would become his payer.

He found a little church across his school. There, he would run to the front of the altar, raise his arms and say, ‘Jesus, this is Jimmy,’ and run back outside. The people thought he was making fun of their belief and asked the pastor to stop him.

One day, the pastor stopped little Jimmy and told him that he shouldn’t make fun of their faith. Little Jimmy shared his story and the pastor shared it with the people. From that day on, they would wait for Jimmy to open their service with his prayer.

Sometime later during another service, as the pastor and the people waited for Jimmy to arrive, they heard the squealing sound of brakes and a loud thump that came from the street. They ran outside and saw little Jimmy under a car. The pastor picked up the weak boy in his arms and heard him say, ‘Jesus, this is Jimmy,’ before lapsing into a coma.

Several months passed and the doctors told the family that there was nothing else they could do to save the boy, and that they should prepare for the worst. That night, as the parents were praying by Jimmy’s bedside, they saw the light of the moon come from behind the clouds and fall upon his face, they heard a voice that said, ‘Jimmy, this is Jesus.’ at that moment, little Jimmy came out of the coma.

The speaker on the radio said, ‘You might think this is a beautiful story, and it is. But God made a Way, I’m that little Jimmy and now the Pastor of that church.’

When I heard this story, I was at a red light at Jackson Avenue, ready to cross over the Pulaski Bridge into Brooklyn from Queens, but I was deeply touched that I lifted up my hands crying and saying, ‘Jesus, this is Carlos.’

You see, when I told myself that (if there is a God He will call me His way,) I entered into a spiritual coma. I needed to be awakened, and He did wake me up. That night at church, I found Sister Ruth and shared with her the enlightenment I just experienced. I told her that yes, I was born again.

Later on, I became a member of Brooklyn Tabernacle under Pastor Cymbala. I then received a calling to serve in Pennsylvania. We moved to the Poconos in 2002 and found Shawnee Tabernacle Church, where we learned that Pastor Dennis Boom and Rev. Grisel Bloom were actually former members of Brooklyn Tabernacle. It was one of the best times we ever had. There, I was ordained evangelist in 2004.

My wife and I participated in a fellowship at Shawnee for 8 years, and later I was called to minister in Florida. We relocated there on June 30, 2008, the same day when unbeknown to me, the Pastor planned to ordain me as a Deacon. Instead, they gave us The Right Hand of Fellowship, and prayed for us.

I returned to Pennsylvania to attend my son's - Ariel traumatic event. Upon fulfilling my obligations, I settled in Florida, January 4th, 2010. I remain in prayer till the Lord gave me directions. July 2010, while in prayer, the Lord established -The Way Truth Life Tabernacle. On January 25, 2013, the church was incorporated as an non-profit organization by the state of Florida.  The Way Truth Life Tabernacle, Inc. God gave me a vision and called me to preach the Gospel with boldness, knowing that the source of our confidence and sufficiency is of Him.”
